We’ve had the sun on our faces and a taste of spring and HOPEFULLY have seen the end of  winters chill. It’s time for spring portrait sessions.  Little ones dressed in their Easter and First Communion finest or simply playing in the grass with bare toes…all in time for Mother’s Day.  Hey kids, it’s right around the corner.  I am scheduling for May and June now.  Weekend sessions are VERY LIMITED so schedule ahead.  Parks, gardens, sidewalks and pathways all make great backdrops for family sessions. When clients ask me to design custom Holiday cards from their session I like to hold back on posting them so their card is a surprise to their friends.  Finally I can share some of the highlights from our holiday sessions.

I am already booking sessions for April and May for outdoor family sessions.  During the next couple months of  Winter Blahs I will really be looking forward to the beautiful colors of spring sessions.  The Studio is open during the winter months.  Perfect for capturing little ones and their many milestones.  First birthday cake smashes are always FUN!  Natural light is beautiful inside during winter months.  All my newborn sessions are done using natural light.  Roeckell Photography gift certificates make a fantastic shower gift for expecting moms. Recently I have had three newborn sessions for local teachers. What a great idea! The faculty and classroom Moms purchased gift certificates for newborn and toddler sessions.  It has been a big hit!  If you know anyone expecting, think about giving a gift that their little one will not grow out of!

Happy New Year!

 

First and foremost, Thank You for your support of Roeckell Photography in 2011.   It has been a wonderful year, busy right up to Christmas week. I’ve worked with Beautiful families and children. Together we have had a blast creating wonderful lasting memories.

Keep an eye on the Blog for posts of many of the sessions that I have not posted so they would not spoil holiday surprises. I am very excited about 2012 and all that is to come.  My first session of 2012 is scheduled for a newborn that is making his/her way into the world any day now. These sessions make me giddy. There is nothing more special than a newborn baby.  Actually every age has it’s fun and I am so lucky to get to do what I love and have fun doing it! Thanks again!!

Time between Christmas and the New Year is always lively in our home. I am blessed with time to be home with my four kids.  Their ages are more an issue this year than in the past. For many years everything was a group gift or toy that we all shared in.  Now my teenagers are separating from their younger sister and brother. The growing pains can be LOUD.

Even the Christmas card was harder to accomplish this year. Getting them all together with their busy schedules, showered, dressed AND in a good mood at the same time was almost impossible.  I waited too long again and by the week before Christmas when I still didn’t have a card the only color option the sky provided was grey or brown. We pulled it off but I must admit that they gave me four minutes to accomplish my picture taking and it cost me $50 worth of burgers and fries at Five Guys.  I’ve created MONSTERS. Good monsters though!
