Faces of Marrilac

Early in December I was happy to volunteer my time and talent as a photographer in an annual event at the Marrilac Center called Portraits of Hope. Marrilac is a Social Center serving the residents of  Chicago’s lower west side. Portraits of Hope offers families an opportunity to have a family portrait taken by a professional at no cost.  For most, this is an opportunity they would otherwise not afford.  The day I spent with the  Chicago Professional Photographers members photographing families from the Marrilac center was rewarding beyond my expectations. The 80 or so  families that came that day were  warm, welcoming and grateful.  The Families were lovely to work with but you know I loved the little ones.  I look forward to participating  in this event again next year. These are just a few of the candid photos I snapped during the day there.

This little guy’s personality was just as you see him here.  I think if I had any money he would have sold me some property up the block!
